How to make unique book holders? I had these book holders. I painted them twice and let them dry before gluing the hard plastic feathers I had left overs from my previous projects. I let them dry 24 hours and they are ready!
Old bookends got upcycled, by giving them few coat of a dark blue paint and and hint of a gold paint. Easy way to spice up your home colors rather than buying brand new ones.
Once you want something new to your home, have a look first at what you have and why you are not happy with it any longer? Is the color wrong? is it too worn, shabby, does it need a bit of a spiced up? I simply want color in our house! Before buying anything new I always look at what I already have and if I can upcycle and reuse them. I have had this letter holder for years, recently it started looking very plain and boring. I had a look which paints I have and which would suit our decor. Dark blue is the winner 
Added a hint of golden color as well.
Think outside of the box! I found this beautiful silver color (only color, not real silver) sugar bowl from the local flea market. I fell in love with it´s shape and instantly knew I needed to have it. I certainly did not need another sugar bowl. I did not know in that moment for what I was going to use it for, but once I got home, I knew! Gave it a good wash, a fresh coat of copper spray paint and it was transformed to a case for lady items.
Dark green and gold colors are a match made in heaven – it is such a great color combo

I got really inspired by Iittala flower pots and Aarikka candle holders. I thought I would have a look if I had any flower pots at home I could upcycle. 
Did not have any flower pots, but I had an old worn Heineken Beer cooler I purchased from the local flea market several years ago. 
It is not the same idea as what I saw, but this what upcycling is, create your own style of the products that you have and the inspiration you got 
I also love pearls and beads ….Found few old necklaces I could use for my project.
Steps: First I gave the beer cooler a good wash Spray painted the inside with golden color, could have done this bit last as well Spray painted the beads Spray painted the outside of the cooler with green color Taped and plastic wrapped the cooler in order to paint the golden parts After it was well dried and the beads all spray painted I glued the beads to the middle.
Last step I placed a flower pot inside the cooler and looked the best place for it in our living room
